Fernando Martínez
Product Designer
Denver, USA
I’m a product designer who likes complicated problems and clear answers. I’ve spent 15+ years helping teams turn messy ideas and technical constraints into products people can actually understand and use.
Currently open for work.
Who I am.
Product design has become a rewarding puzzle for me. From laying out the rough outline of a problem to completing the big picture and putting it out there for the world to use, I enjoy it all.
My background in design, development, and game design/development shapes how I approach my work. I love exploring ideas, working through UX problems, building prototypes, and collaborating with people to turn a vague concept into something tangible.
I’m always interested in trying new tools and unconventional ways of working, especially when they help push an idea further than we could yesterday.
I genuinely enjoy messy problems. When there are technical constraints, unclear workflows, and competing needs, obsessively piecing together the underlying structure and turning it into an experience that feels clear and useful is what I do best.

What I've done.
Senior Product Designer
Scrunch AI
2026
At Scrunch AI, I led product design and design systems as the company’s sole Product Designer, working closely with engineering and leadership to turn early concepts into polished, production-ready experiences. I built functional AI-assisted prototypes and created a living design system that brought product patterns, code snippets, brand guidance, and implementation documentation into one searchable source of truth.
Senior Product Designer
Unity Technologies
2021-2025
At Unity, I led the design and evolution of Parsec for Teams, helping turn Parsec from a gaming-focused tool into a trusted remote collaboration platform for creative professionals. I redesigned onboarding, trial, dashboard, and desktop app workflows, contributing to a 60% increase in trial-to-paid conversion. I also partnered closely with engineering and championed scalable design systems to support product growth and adoption by larger clients.

"I had the pleasure of managing and working closely with Fernando during his time as a Senior Product Designer on our Parsec product at Unity. He played a critical role in enhancing the UX for both the Parsec dashboard and app, delivering a more intuitive and seamless experience for our users. Fernando’s most significant contribution was improving our administration tools within the Parsec dashboard. He redesigned the admin interface to be more intuitive and efficient, enabling IT managers and team administrators to manage users, permissions, and settings with ease. By streamlining workflows and introducing clearer visual hierarchies, he significantly enhanced usability and productivity for our enterprise customers. "Fernando is an exceptional designer. He is really passionate about his work. He can take a project from start to finish by himself and end up with a great, functional piece. Also he is a great team player, gives objective feedback, and knows pretty much about anything design or game related. He has great sense of design, but what never stop to impress me is how he works with typography, such a sensibility. I will always love how he can tell a story just by laying out type. Not many designers can do that. He lives, breaths and sleeps design."

"I had the pleasure of managing Fernando in his role as a User Experience Designer while at DOOR3. Fernando has a strong background in the fundamentals of UX and assimilated into our process and tools quickly and efficiently. He was an asset to each and every project that he was on and his energy and enthusiasm were a positive asset to each engagement and to the company as a whole."
